Just a Peek

Since there’s still a few finishing touches left for my new room at college, I thought I’d give you guys just a sneak peek of what it looks like

Hopefully you like it! Of course it has chevron and dots!

More Bedding Contenders!

Hi everyone!
So as you probably know from a couple of posts, I'm pretty torn when it comes to my bedding for my apartment next fall. I'm extremely indecisive and there are such cute bedding options out there.
Well, to add to my confusion, there are a couple more contenders....

Chevron

Poppies

I have always loved the combination of yellow and gray. They are super fresh and clean, not to mention always popular.
I love the fabric of these two.
I'm torn though because this option is more expensive, and I don't know much about this brand.
But I'm such a huge sucker for gray and yellow.
Feel free to weigh in your thoughts on my great bedding struggle.

Christmas Time Is Here...

With finals, projects, and just life getting in the way the past few weeks, the blog has definitely taken a backseat. I’m so sorry! But now that I’m on break, expect to see more awesome things! Like my two newest paddles that my littles made (so darn cute! Just a hint...there's some Vera Bradley and one that matches my room perfectly!), some awesome Christmas posts, and just rambling about makeup and decorating and everything I enjoy!

For now, I’ll share my newest loves! It’s these Christmas pillows from Target! I saw them in store and on Youtube and I just couldn’t take it! I decided that my room at school needed some holiday décor. And now that I’m home for break, they’re on my bed here! I’m so glad I bought them! I definitely love all three, but I think the snowflake one has a special place in my heart!
How do you decorate your dorm for the holidays? Do you skip it altogether? Put up a tree? Lights? Stockings?

November Lusts

Have you ever noticed that when you don’t have money, is when there are like a million things you can’t wait to get your hands on? And when you do have money, there is nothing that catches your eye?

Well, I’m totally in the first scenario right now. With gift giving for my littles, my bank account is rather sad right now, so I’m trying to put a cease on spending (at least really dumb, I’m bored so I’ll go visit Target, Victoria’s Secret and Bath and Body Works and buy over $80 worth of wallflowers and underwear I didn’t need type of spending).

And of course, there are now about a million things that I’m dying to buy right now. So, here are a list of the random things I’m lusting over.

NARS Deep Throat Blush
This is a blush that I’ve been eyeing and thinking about for about six months now. And if it weren’t $28 at Sephora, I would probably already have it by now. See, I’ve been using Orgasm exclusively now since about June. And while it’s a lovely color and great quality, I’m just a tad sick of it. And while I could just as easily pick up a cute, inexpensive Wet N’ Wild blush or a Rimmel one, I think sometimes, it’s better to not accumulate a collection of products that are just iffy to you. It’s better to just save up and go for what you really want. And so while I’ve also been tempted by Tarte’s Amazonian Clay blushes and MAC’s Pink Swoon and Fleur, Deep Throat just keeps calling me.

Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
So this one is sorta iffy on my list. See, so far I’m not a huge fan of Covergirl mascaras. They always seem really wet and difficult to apply beautifully. I know that Lash Blast Fusion is definitely not my mascara of choice, which is my last Covergirl mascara purchase. But I’ve so far heard pretty good things about this one, and well…it’s new! I want to try it! We’ll see if I actually drop the $8 or so on this, but it keeps calling me…

Maurice’s White Sweater
So a sorority sister of mine recently wore a white, chunky sweater sort of like this and I just loved her outfit. It was adorable. And I made the comment that if I could find a sweater like it, I would totally copy her. Well, I did. But have I purchased it? No. It’s only $34, which is pretty good for a sweater, but dropping that much on it…I just don’t know. But I envision it looking lovely with some dark wash skinny jeans, a nice red cami underneath, and maybe a chunky necklace.

Aerie Vintage Lace Underwear
I know this definitely seems random. And maybe too personal. But Aerie’s vintage lace underwear (which comes in 3 different styles I believe), is just so delicate and pretty looking. See, I have a real soft spot for underwear. I could probably go at least a month without doing laundry, and still have underwear to spare. Kinda sad, right? I’ve never purchased any undergarments from Aerie before, and this would be online, but Victoria’s Secret Pink (which is most of my current collection), just seems really young and cheap to me. Like a bunch a stuff a 15 year old would wear. Not a junior in college. So if you’ve purchased this style before, let me know your thoughts and if it’s worth it.

MAC Techna Kohl Liner
So it was pretty well documented that my last MAC liner died a painful, sad death. And because my college town is pretty much in the middle of nowhere, the nearest MAC is about 40 minutes away. So I had to settle with my Physician’s Formula eyeliner, which has worked fantastically. Except now I want to go back, just because it’s calling me. We’ll see. Maybe once I used up all of my Physician’s Formula liner, then I’ll move on.
Dottie Mugs
So it’s kinda funny. I don’t need these because our sorority house provides all the kitchen necessities we need like mugs. But the evil hoarder in me desperately wants to buy these and save them for whenever I need them (which you know, could be never). But I don’t want World Market to run out of them before I need them! So cute! So there is my random list of things that I'm currently lusting over.
What things are you hoping to buy soon? Are you just waiting for Christmas?

What's in My PB Teen Boxes??

Hey everyone! Remember seeing these from my post on Friday?

I thought I would share the few things that I ordered from Pottery Barn Teen for my dorm room! I have less than a month (!!) until I move in, and I can't believe it. As you've probably already guessed, I loved PB Teen, especially when it comes to dorm decor. They are timeless, classy, fun, and have items that I consider to be extremely high quality.

These items may be pretty familiar, as I have talked about them quite a bit.

The first box that came brought this little cute guy:

While he may look slightly brown in the picture, he's actually black, and he has ASPIRE written across him. Which, is absolutely PERFECT for my Alpha Sigma Alpha themed room in my sorority house. Why, you may ask? Well, because our motto is "Aspire, Seek, Attain." So it's quite the catch (and luck) to find a pillow that reads aspire (they also had words like SMILE, LAUGH, LOVE) in a color that goes perfectly with my room theme.

Since aspire isn't exactly the most popular option among their pillow, it was on sale. And I consider it to have been on a major sale, since it was only $13.99. With free shipping. If you are at all familiar with PB Teen, a cross-stitched pillow for less than $20 is unheard of. Plus free shipping, which is both extremely rare and a god send, since they're shipping can be absolutely ridiculous! Originally, the pillow was $35, which I feel is extremely over-priced. Not because it isn't made well or not perfect. It's actually because is more of lumbar pillow (measures 7x15). But everything, size, shape, word, color, and most definitely price, were perfect for me. I love it. (If you wanna check it out, or it's lovely sisters that are all the original $35 price, go here!)

Here's what the next box that came carried:

Look familiar? Well, they should because I blogged about them (and have been drooling about them ever since) a little while back.

On the right is the zebra sheets that I have been dying to get for months, and on the right is my new greatest love, the dottie bin. I actually bought two dottie bins, even though one is just pictured.

Here is a closer look at the Funky Zebra Organic Sheet set. They are actually a brand new item to PB Teen, as they used to have a zebra sheet set that was a smaller print. They are usually $59 for the Twin/Twin XL size, but I bought them for $49. I'm honestly been lusting for some PB Teen sheets, especially the organic kind, for a long time. This past school year I actually used the zebra sheets from Target. While they were soft and comfy, I disliked how much they faded and grew fuzzy (hopefully you know what I'm talking about. The nubby feeling fabric gets?) after only a wash or two.

Another thing I particularly liked about these sheets, is that it is a good, classy zebra print. I know that may sound strange, but not all zebra prints are created equally.

I also splurged with those cute dottie bins:

I couldn't resist. I love PB Teen and I love dots. And I love bins. Put all those three things together, and it was a match made in heaven. I bought two for medium sized bins for $45 (on sale from $50, plus free shipping!!). I was very worried that they would discontinue them, not that I have word they will, but I always have that fear.

And with a looming deadline of free shipping on both the bins and the sheets, I felt like I needed to buy them before they could sell out. Or I'd have to pay shipping (have I mentioned how ridiculous their shipping costs are?!). These are bigger than I thought (even though I knew the measurements before buying). They are definitely going to come in handy in my tiny little room this fall. I'm planning on one holding all my DVDS and the other all my lotions, body sprays, perfumes, and makeup brush cleaner.

Here's an example showing that they are quite large. It's currently holding my MAC brush cleanser and my Vera Bradley small notebook.

 I love them so much.

So that's the goodies that I recieved this past week. Like I said, I love all of PB Teen's products, and when they are on sale, like all three of these items, it's really hard to resist.

What dorm room decor items are you lusting over? Anything you've ordered lately?

Thanks for reading!

Vera Bradley Heaven

Hey everyone!

If you haven't already noticed, I'm obsessed with Vera Bradley. I love everything about their bags, backpacks, and schools supplies. Which makes sense why I was so excited to go to the Vera Bradley store this past Tuesday, when their school supplies and three of their new fall colors were released.

I was literally in heaven! Armed with a coupon, I was in the school supply shopping spirit!

Looking at this picture of all my purchases just makes me sigh out of content and pure happiness! I love all over Vera's products and prints, and I was excited to get some of the newest prints (Va Va Bloom and Paisley Meets Plaid). Sadly, Indigo Pop just honestly isn't a favorite of mine, although I can say that lots of Vera fans that like cooler colors and blue LOVE it!

Usually I'm so excited for the Vera planners, but this year I wanted to try out the Lilly Pulitzer agendas (waiting for it in the mail!!)They definitely were flying off the shelves like hotcakes at the store I was at. In fact, I believe only 1 agenda in Va Va Bloom was available!

Let's take a look at my loot!

I was so thrilled that my store had the book keepers in Camellia. I actually didn't think they'd have it, so it was such a pleasant surprise that they did! I plan on keeping all my notebooks and folders for my classes in these in my room. It seems like it would be a great way to keep them organized and easy to get to on busy mornings!

Since I'd need some notebooks for my classes, I decided to invest in the Vera Bradley 3 subject ones. The first is in Va Va Bloom and the second is in Island Blooms! I think both prints are so much fun and will make taking notes in Bio (ewww) interesting!

I actually used the old single subject Vera Bradley notebooks last spring and loved them! They are not only adorable, but have pages the size of like a 5 Star spiral. So there's plenty of room to take notes!

I am super excited for the new flexi pocket folders! I played with them in the store and think they seem more durable than the old just cardboard-y folders. I got them in Paisley Meets Plaid and Va Va Bloom. I can't wait to stash all my important papers in them.

The next purchase isn't necessarily "school supplies." However, I think it's going to be a total lifesaver for organizing and toting my makeup around. It's the hanging organizer in Island Blooms.

I love this print so much! I had a pretty hard time deciding between this or Va Va Bloom, but I decided that I just couldn't resist Island Blooms.

This is what it looks like open. It has a ridiculous amount of space, let me tell you. It has four pockets and I think at least three of them (I'm not sure about the top pocket haha) are lined. Perfect for traveling with makeup. I was reading the reviews of it and one woman claimed to have held 21 MAC eyeshadows in one of the middle clear pockets, so I'm sure all of my makeup will fit easily.

I actually didn't pay for this, because I returned the Vera Bradley towels that I bought in June. While I thought they were adorable, there was one deal breaker for me: they need to be line dried. Yeah, not so fun, especially when using a community laundry room. I was actually pretty disappointed, because they were adorable, but oh well. I think is will work out better for me anyway. It's more practical for me, at least.

The next thing that I got was these adorable sticky notes, otherwise none as the Forget-Me-Nots.

They are also in Va Va Bloom and I can't wait until I use them at college! Basically, it has one long list sticky, one medium size, one normal sized one, and those cute little flags for like reading textbooks.

Another item that I just couldn't resist were these highlighters in all the featured fall prints. I love that they are skinny and come in five colors (perfect for color coding your planner, which I'm planning on doing for the first time this fall). Gosh, I love these!

These next purchases were difficult to get, let me tell you. The top study buddy in Paisley Meets Plaid was the very last one at the store I was shopping. Not just in this print, but in all of them, in the entire store. Wow. Originally I wanted two, since I was planning on using one for my math class and one for my biology class. However, I had to just buy one on Tuesday since they were out.

However, when shopping at a local Vera Bradley dealer (that sounds like it's a car haha), they still had a ton of study buddies and they even had some in Va Va Bloom. So I snatched it up in a rush of excitement. Basically, if you can't tell (which I'm sure you can't because of my awful iPhone pictures) this are index cards on a ring with little dividers in between them. In other words, a perfect study tool that just so happens to be totally adorable as well. No wonder on Tuesday and Wednesday the website was COMPLETELY sold out of them. But I got mine and I know they will be super helpful, not only for college girls, but every student.

My final school supply that I bought were this cute little clips. They are Camellia and they are just so cute. If my planner isn't too big, I plan on keeping track of the date with these cute little guys and the same for my notebooks for my classes.

Finally I bought this iPhone case on the dorm room special hours day and decided since it's Vera to post it here. I haven't used it quite yet because I keep forgeting to, but I was so excited to see that they are now making cases, finally!! It's in Va Va Bloom, and I can't wait to put it on my phone.

So not counting the iPhone case, I got all those adorable school supplies for $63. Not bad when it's Vera Bradley. I had a $20 off a purchase of $75 or more, which definitely came in handy. But I think these items are all so worth it, because Vera constantly proves to not only be cute, but to be very well made.

Any school supplies you can't wait to buy? Any Vera stuff you need for school?

My Dorm Wish List

Wondering what I hope to buy for my room in my sorority house this upcoming fall? Well, prepare to be excited! Because here it is. As a junior (!!!!), I already have most of the dorm room staples. You know, things like laundry bags, basic bedding, shower caddy, and all those important items.

However, I think every student should freshen up their campus collection every year. You don't need to break the bank or redo everything (unless you have the money and want to), but I think it's definitely more fun and exciting to get some new things. Subtle changes in your dorm room year to year are so easy and be extremely affordable. From making your own art, buying simply new sheets or towels, or new frames! So easy! Here are some things that I am personally drooling over, and hoping to add to my room this fall!

First, I would love to have some new sheets, hopefully these CUTE organic zebra ones from Pottery Barn Teen.

Aren't they so much fun? Actually it looks like they are brand new to PB Teen. They used to have a smaller, more subtle (is zebra ever really subtle, though?) pattern, but just checking into their site right now, it looks like these are it. But they are really cute, I must admit.

You can never have enough storage in college, and that's just one reason why I have my eye on PB Teen's dottie bins (medium size in black haha). I'm planning on filling them up with my lotions and body sprays (I know as girls we LOVE to show off our bottles of products, but seriously, if you hide them away it instantly makes you room look so much CLEANER and way more organized), as well as some DVDs.

Although I do really like these chevron fabric bins from Etsy. I'm so confused between the chevron and dottie ones...

What would you choose? I'd love some opinions?

In other areas, I definitely want some interesting wall art.

I think having my monogram on the wall as a headboard is such a cute idea. It would add so much interest and add a touch of flair that isn't often found in dorm rooms. Plus, it's so darn cute!!

I acutally have never used wall decals before, but this year I feel like experimenting a little with that monogram and with some of these cute little frames!

I hope to make a little collage out of these adorable little frames (while displaying pictures of my dog, guinea pigs, mom, sorority, and my boyfriend). Aren't they so cute! Eight come in a pack for $20, and some are actually quite sizable! You can find them at Dormify, Decor 2 Ur Door, and even at your local Bed Bath and Beyond!

So what do you guys think? Any dorm decor you have your eyes on these days?

Thanks for reading!
