There's something that just makes me so excited about new beauty products.
I'm super excited to try all of these things out. Some are old favorites (Clump Crusher Extensions and Becca Ever Matte Primer) and others are things that I can't wait to use (Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, Beautyblender Solid, Deborah Lippman Blue Orchid, Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in RSVP, and Benefit Gimme Brow).

Spring MAC Haul/First Impressions
Hey guys!
There's no doubt that I love MAC makeup. It was the first high-end makeup that I dabbled in, and I still continue to find that the brand as a whole is great quality and (when compared with other high-end brands like NARS) relatively affordable.
I've been struggling with my face makeup recently. I love the It Cosmetics CC Cream, but I find myself wanting more coverage and something that holds up better with oily skin.
I thought about trying out the Amazonian Clay Tarte foundation, but found myself just wanting to try something really different. Enter the MAC store. I really like the MAC counter that's here in my hometown, but I truly love going to the full-fledged store about an hour away.
Anyway, in the store I received great customer service and walked away spending about $70 more than I was originally planning on, but overall I think I picked up some great stuff.
I picked up five things at the store, four face products and one eyeshadow!
Cork Eyeshadow
Over the past year or so, I've collected enough products to finally exchange for the Back-to-MAC program (which I view like an incentive program). I knew that for my free eyeshadow, I wanted a nice brown color that would look great with my NARS Alhambra duo and this shade is perfect! I can't believe I didn't own Cork before now.
Select Cover-Up Concealer
I've been using the Make Up Forever Full Cover concealer, but when the makeup artist used this on me, I could truly see how much better this is. I love it so far. It looks amazing under my eyes (conceals all signs of dark circles without getting cakey or making my face oily) and is great on blemishes and redness on the rest of my face. It's thicker and creamier than the MUF version. The MAC website says that this concealer blends in to be invisible and I must agree, I don't even notice it on my face. In case you are wondering, I was matched to NW25.
Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder
I'm gonna be honest and say that before I purchased this powder, I had never heard of it. When I asked the makeup artist about a new setting powder, I thought for sure she'd lead me to another Mineralized Skinfinish Natural (which I loved), however, she recommended this one because she said it's great for sensitive skin, blots up oily perfectly, adds little coverage, so no need to worry about a cakey look. So I can use it all day to touch up any oiliness that might appear. Plus, after using it a couple of times, it feels so amazing! I love this stuff. It takes away any shine or oil, but still gives my face a glowy look. (By the way, I'm in the shade Light Plus).
Matchmaster Foundation
Knowing that I was curious about MAC foundations, I did some research before I went into the store and discovered this guy. I thought it sounded promising, but I wanted to see what the MUA would suggest. After telling her that I was interested in a medium-full coverage foundation that would last through-out the day and not make me oily, she brought this one to me. Guys, I've only worn this stuff three days now, but I love it. A lot. I've faced absolutely no problems with oiliness, it looks great and glowing on my face, and literally feels like I'm not wearing anything. But it covers up my redness while still not looking cakey. It's amazing. Plus, it has lasted 8-10 hours just as promised. If you have oily skin, you need to check this stuff out. It has SPF 15 and I'm in the shade 1.5.
Powder Blush in Peachykeen
After having the MUA also apply this to my cheeks, I couldn't help but get it too. It looks so pretty for spring and I think it looks really good with my green eyes. The site describes it as a baby peach with a little shimmer and I'd have to agree. It's natural and perfect for spring.
I'll give updates and do full reviews on some of these products, but I just have to say, that when it comes down to it, I'm always impressed with MAC.

May Favorites
Hi guys!
It’s that time again for my monthly favorites!
This is part of the new Resort collection (along with First Timer below) and this is pretty much my new nail polish obsession. This was actually the color that I wasn't going to get. I knew I wanted First Timer and In the Cab-ana, but this color was one I went back and forth on. I'm so glad I picked it up though, because it's the most gorgeous coral-red color I've ever worn! You know when you are wearing nail polish and you keep admiring your nails? Yeah, that was me with Come Here.
Essie's First Timer
So I was on the search for the Resort Collection just because of this color. I'm currently in love with mints and turquoises and this looked absolutely perfect. However, nowhere had it! I went to 3 Ultas in three different cities (Denver, Fort Collins, and Colorado Springs), and they were sold out. Targets weren't carrying them (at the time, now of course they have them). But one day when I was across town, I spotted a Walgreens I don't normally go to and thought I'd take a look. They had it! I was so happy! And thankfully after all that searching, this color was perfect! I love it and think it's the perfect color for spring and summer time.
S Factor Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner
Guys, I have a new favorite shampoo and conditioner! I love this stuff so much! First of all, it smells amazing! Like strawberries or some sort of really sweet amazing fruit! It's literally the best smelling shampoo and conditioner I've ever smelled. Besides the amazing smell, it makes my hair super smooth and silky, which is awesome for summer and whenever I want to wear my hair straight. I'm so in love with this. Unfortunately it pretty much costs an arm and a leg, but at Ulta you can get this buy 2 get 1 free, so I also got the smoothing lusterizer too, which is also amazing when it comes to easing away freeze and making my hair extra smooth. I'm so in love with this!
Bath and Body Works Summertime S'mores Candle
I love the new summer candle line from Bath and Body Works (Watermelon lemonade and Strawberry Picnic are amazing!), but this candle is definitely my favorite! I love Marshmallow Fireside, a candle that usually appears in the fall, so it was nice to get my hands on this to enjoy earlier in the summer. It smells so sweet and amazing!
MAC Studio Fix Powder
So I found my go to summer face product! I had been using the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural, but I wanted a little heavier coverage. Plus my skin has been majorly oily lately so I wanted to try this out. I love it! In combination with my Urban Decay De-Slick spray, this gives me fantastic coverage, stays all day long. Even without touchups! I love it! It hasn't broken me out either, which is awesome! I know people aren't always huge fans of powder foundation, but I think if you have oily skin, it's a summer must!
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black
As I reviewed previously, this is my current mascara favorite. I love how full, voluminous, and defined it makes my lashes. I also love how it builds effortlessly and quickly too. No clumps or goopiness either, which is even better. I can definitely see this becoming a go-to mascara in my collection for a long time.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Rollerball
It was like Christmas the other day. I was unpacking my perfume and when I went to remove my bottle of Daisy perfume, I found two rollerballs and a lotion! I knew that I got a big set for my birthday, but I had forgotten all that I got a rollerball in Daisy Eau So Fresh, a perfume that I have been lusting over lately! It was the best discovery ever! I love this scent a lot. It's lighter, fresher, and I think even more floral-y than the original Daisy and so perfect for spring and summer!
Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere Hand Cream
My hands have been ridiculously dry lately and it seems like I have tried every lotion out there and nothing changes. So I went to the old standby Shea Cashmere line that I love at Bath and Body Works. I love the scent of this line and seriously, it's the only lotion I can stand because it doesn't feel oily or heavy at all. I bought the little mini travel size, but I'll probably be running out to buy the full size body lotion soon.
Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray
I absolutely love this stuff! I recently wrote a first impressions post about De-Slick and raved about it. It has worked wonders for my oily skin and my makeup, as well as for my new favorite powder from MAC. I honestly didn't believe in makeup setting sprays before trying this, but I love it! I've even already repurchased one for when I run out!
MAC Mineralize Blush in Warm Soul
This is my first MAC blush and I'm very impressed. Not only is the color absolutely beautiful and perfect for summer, but it's also extremely long-lasting. I think it's the perfect summer blush color!
Simple Eye Makeup Remover Pads
I've been really loving these little pads to remove my eye makeup. They are great at removing every inch of mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow, without making my eyes burn or water. That's a huge thing, let me tell you! Seriously, you should try these!

May Lusts
Hi guys!
I can’t believe how fast May is going! I’ve already finished
my first week of summer school (only six more!). Isn’t that exciting? Anyway,
between studying and writing papers for my classes, I’ve been lusting over some
really fun things this month. With summer coming and me wishing my hair would
grow magically overnight, there are a ton of hair products listed, in case you
were wondering! Anyway, let’s take a look!
Forever 21 Mint Paddle Brush
Okay guys, isn't this the cutest brush ever?! I think so! Previously I thought my polka dot one from Ulta was the cutest, but this one now is officially the cutest. It also comes in coral and black (also both super cute as well) and for less than $4. I'm pretty sure I might buy the coral and mint ones because I can't choose between them! Plus, my brush at home loses at least two bristles a day, so I think a new one is justified, right?
Forever 21 Makeup Bag
Speaking of cute cheap things from Forever 21, every single one of their makeup bags wants to come home to me. This one with the hearts and the mint green (I'm really loving mint green, huh?) is calling me, along with about five others! And who can say no to bags that are so inexpensive and so cute?
Not Your Mother's Miss Freeze Hairspray
So I have been really wanting to try a new hairspray (hopefully something inexpensive) and this one has been calling me. Unfortunately I already purchased the She's a Tease hairspray from the same brand (I'll let you know my thoughts), but if that one doesn't work out I definitely have my eyes on this one.
Bath and Body Works Market Peach Candle
When the Market Peach and other fruity scents came out like two months ago, I wasn't really on the whole fruity bandwagon. I mean, when I think of spring smells, I think of blooms and lilacs and more florals, not fruit. But now that it's getting really hot and transitioning into summer, I definitely am loving the fruity smells, particularly Market Peach! It is pretty much my favorite scent right now from Bath and Body Works and I would love to get my hands on the 3 wick candle! I have the Wallflower in my room up at school and it smells so fun and sweet!
Bath and Body Works Summer Boardwalk Candle
Okay, so if you haven't smelled this yet, you totally need to! I first smelled it without reading the description, so I was shocked when I realized it was caramel corn! I was expecting some weird beach scent or something. But no, this sweet amazing fall-like scent is awaiting! I love love love it! I'm a fall person at heart, give my Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin and Pumpkin Cupcake anyday and I'll be a happy girl. But this candle is one that can definitely help me hold out for fall!
Not Your Mother's Way to Grow Shampoo and Conditioner
Reading the reviews of this online, they say it smells amazing and sweet. Which of course calls me! Plus it promises to help make your healthy, eventually helping it to become long and strong. Ummm....all those things sound amazing! Unfortunately, every time I attempt to buy this in Ulta they are sold out! Cue my sad face. Anyway, I'm still holding out and would love to try this stuff out!
Not Your Mother's Lock Luster Oil Treatment
Continuing with the hair trend, I am super curious to try out this oil treatment by NYM! First of all, it's like $6. A product with macadamia oil and argon oil for under $10? Sign me up for that! Basically it's supposed to help condition hair and make it moisturized and healthy and happy.
Bath and Body Works True Blue Spa Shea Cashmere Shower Cream
So for some odd reason my hands have been ridiculously dry recently. I can't explain why. And my regular lotion was not cutting the mustard, so I went to an old tried and true favorite: my Shea Cashmere hand lotion. As I was using this, making my hands feel super moisturized without being oily, I fell back in love with the scent and basically everything about it. So now I would love to get my hands on the shower cream so my itchy, irritated summer skin can feel smooth and nice! Plus smell amazing!
Victoria's Secret Dream Angels Multi-Way Bra
A few weeks ago I went to buy a new everyday bra. One of the associates recommended this one and I fell in love! I have since bought two, but the hoarder in me would love another one (or two?). Basically, these are the best bras I have ever worn. It's super comfortable, it provides support, lifts, and is just a gorgeous bra in general. I'm in love!
American Made Chevron Bedding
I recently found this on Pinterest and fell in love with this beautiful bedding! I've always loved the color combination of yellow and gray because it's so clean and fresh and modern. This set is calling me like crazy! So if you want to help me out, let me know if you prefer this one over my other choices for next year's apartment? I'd seriously love you forrrever!!
So that's my lusts for May! What things do you have your eyes on?

April Favorites
Hi guys!
It’s that time again for my monthly favorites! I can’t
believe that it’s May! April absolutely flew by! I only have finals week left
in this semester, which is crazy! Unfortunately I’ll be taking summer classes,
so I don’t have that awesome feeling of accomplishment after wrapping up my
classes, but oh well.
Anyway, here are my favorites!
1. Tarte Eyelash Curler
So I kind of bought this curler on a whim last month. I'd been wanting to try the Tarte version because I'm constantly unimpressed with every curler I've ever tried. But $16 always seems a little steep honestly. As I was finally buying Nars Deepthroat, standing in line I noticed this guy. I will admit I finally caved because of the packaging and the cute Aztec design. I'm a sucker for cute stuff! Seriously, buy the Aztec one in the sample area next to the checkout at Sephora, don't buy the plain one because this one is so much more fun! Anyway, I've noticed this works really well. I haven't had any awful lash debacles that the MAC one constantly left me with. Plus it's cute.
2. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
This blush is pretty much always raved about, so I wanted to try it out too. And I love it. I know I bought it less than two weeks ago, but I love it. It's such a glowly, pretty color. Gorgeous and perfect for summer. It's pigmented, I think longer-lasting than my beloved NARS blushes, and less than $10 at Walgreens.
3. Essie Turquoise and Caicos
So I can't find First Timer anywhere. Instead I settled for this. And I love it! It's a gorgeous shade and I couldn't stop staring at my toes! It's the perfect color for spring and summer!
4. Cover Girl Clump Crusher Mascara
I went back to it. I revisited a few weeks ago and fell in love all over again. It went on so easily, my lashes look beautiful and full, and it works like a dream. I love this mascara and can't believe I didn't use it for about a month!
5. Bath and Body Works Limoncello Candle
I'm a sucker for anything that has lemon with sugar/vanilla. That's my ABSOLUTE favorite scent combination and this is pretty much my heaven. I at first bought it for my mom for her birthday, but then I couldn't help it and bought myself it, along with a couple Wallflowers. This is the best. I can't get enough of it.
6. Philosophy Pink Frosted Animal Cracker Shower Gel
Like the mascara, this was a product that I revisited recently. I absolutely love Philosophy's shower gels because they make my skin so soft and smooth (plus it helps my dry skin rashes). This smells just like what it claims. Sweet and pink. Can it get better than that? Nope. I don't think so.
7. L'Oreal Magic Anti-Redness Correcting Primer
So I found this from my current Youtube favorite (Brittany Boles). I wanted to dry more drugstore primers, and I do have lots of pink/red patches. This impressed me instantly. See, I had a monster pimple on my chin, and this worked better than concealer. Yes, better. I didn't even need concealer with it. Normally when I don't have huge zits on my face, I use this where I'm most red: inner cheeks, around my nose, and between my eyes. And while it may look funky with the greenish tint, you totally don't see it after you put foundation on. This doesn't make me oily, hasn't broke me out, and just works great. It's only about $11 (significantly less than the Smashbox version) and is seriously an obsession for me currently. Because of it, I don't need as much foundation or powder on my face (because usually I'm just trying to counter my redness).
8. Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush
I also picked this up on a whim at Walgreen's a couple weeks ago and my life has been forever changed. See, previously I've only used Suave's Dry Shampoo, which wasn't life altering to me honestly. But this...it's life altering. I sprayed some on my bangs on second day hair and it looked like I just washed them. I was a tad worried about the scent Blush, but I honestly don't smell anything, which is good. If anything, it just smells clean and fresh. Not like you are trying to cover up dirty hair with perfume. I bought the little sample, but I know for sure that I'll buy the full size as soon as I use this up.
9. Redken Smooth Down Shampoo and Conditioner
These are also revisited products. I originally stopped using them because my hair had a lot of static and needed heavy products to weigh it down (Hello Hydration from Herbal Essence). Well since now I'm sick of my hair feeling weighed down, I switched back and love this! My hair was so soft after using it! I couldn't believe it. Sadly, Redken has since changed their packaging of this and maybe even the formula because now it's geared toward smoothly overly processed hair. But I love this stuff.
10. Macadamia Deep Repair Hair Masque
If you follow my blog regularly, you'll know I finally broke down and bought the sample of this from Ulta. I've used it now three or four times this month and have really enjoyed it. Is my hair completely different? Not really. I don't noticed a night and day difference by any means honestly. I may not be putting enough in my hair (since I'm conserving the sample size). But my hair looks healthy and happy, so I'm going to use my my samples and then decide if I'll splurge on the big guy version of this.
I do want to add that there's a couple of favorite things I forgot to put! Oh no!
Anyway, I've been loving my Market Peach Wallflower from Bath and Body Works.
Like I've said before, Market Peach was one that I didn't actually like. I got the free candle at some event they had a couple of months ago and was just like.."Ehhh." Well, I'm in love now. Maybe because I think it's more of a summer scent than a spring? That could be it.
Also loved the Simple Eye Makeup Removing Pads. They are fantastic and look for a future post about them!
That's all! Hope you have a great day!

A Little Bit of Everything Haul
Hi guys!
Hope you had a great weekend!
Last week I went a tad crazy and bought a ton of
stuff that I’d been eyeing for a while now. I guess that means that this week I
have to take it easy, but I’m super excited about the things that I picked up!
The first place that I went to was Walgreens.
I went there pretty much in search of the Milani
blushes and the eyebrow kit. And Great Lash's clear mascara. And I walked out
with the Batiste Dry Shampoo in the Blush scent. Unfortunately, the brow kit
was a bust. The colors are just too light for my brows (even the darker color
which I thought would be waaay too dark just sticks out like a sore thumb on my
face). However, the other three all work really well. The plus is pigmented and
the perfect glowing color. It's not nearly as peachy/pinky as I thought it
would be. The clear mascara is just awesome in helping my brows cooperate. And
the dry shampoo is AMAZING. I am definitely buying the full size eventually.
Then I went to Bath and Body Works, which is always
my complete downfall. I was there to buy a gift and wound up getting a few
extras for me. I bought 4 Wallflower bulbs because I've come to love Market
Peach, so I definitely wanted to pick that up. It smells so strong and amazing!
Then I got the Limoncello from the new Italy collection. I haven't tried to the
Wallflowers yet, but the candle is pretty much my new favorite thing ever.
If you guys saw my What I'm Loving Wednesday post, you saw that I posted this bag from Lizard Thicket.
Well, I bought this amazing chevron tank from there. I can't tell you how much I love this top. I got so compliments on it and it's seriously the most adorable thing I've ever seen. Plus it shipped so fast, came wrapped up in this cute reusable bag, and was exactly what I thought it'd be! I totally recommend this boutique!
Another thing I'd been eyeing constantly was this little mist from Victoria's Secret Pink in Sweet and Flirty. This smells so good! It's sweet and fruity and just perfect for spring and summer! I seriously can't get enough of this amazing scent!
Another thing that I’d been dying to get my hands on
was the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. Now, this kind of comes as a surprise
because for the longest time I thought this palette would be a total waste of
money. I mean, there’s nothing really unique about it. And it’s $27, which is
kinda steep. However, I’ve seen some really nice Youtube tutorials using this,
and I had enough Ulta rewards points to knock off about $8, which really told
me that I should get it. Plus Ulta was running a special where if you purchased
$30 worth of Urban Decay stuff you got a sample size of the All-Nighter Makeup
Setting Spray (honestly, I have no clue why she gave it to me, but I got it, so
I’m super happy). So far I’m in love with this palette by the way!
Going back into clothes...
Here's a closer look at the adorable design. I just love it so much!

I Heart Spring!
1.
Favorite spring nail polish?
2.
What is your must-have lip color this spring?
Seeing
as how I really don’t wear lip color any season, nothing changes in the spring.
But when it comes to lip products, I have been loving the Nivea Lip Butters (in
Vanilla Macadamia and Carmel Kiss-which is just like Kettle Corn!). Not only do they smell so sweet and yummy, but they really moisturize my lips (which are still chapped like they are during the winter).
3.
Show us your favorite spring dress!
4.
What's your favorite flower?
I
absolutely love flowers. My favorite spring flower is of course, daffodils.
They actually are my favorite flower just in general. When it’s not spring, I love sunflowers, mums, roses, poppies, and daisies!
5.
Favorite spring scarf/accessory?

6.
What spring trend(s) are you most excited about this year? (Makeup, fashion or
both!)
I
think I’m always just excited for scarves and floral print. I’m really liking
the lace and vintage looking florals.
7.
Favorite spring candle?
| First Bloom |
8.
Favorite body spray/perfume for spring?
![]() |
| Country Chic Perfume |
Country
Chic is always my go-to scent, especially for spring and summer! I use the body
wash and the perfume. I’ve also been loving my Marc Jacob’s Daisy, which is
just a pretty floral for spring as well. And recently, I’ve been really loving
Pink Chiffon from Bath and Body Works for a sweet, floral type scent.
9.
What is spring like where you live?
![]() |
| See how bipolar it is? Ugh. |
In
Colorado, spring is kind of non-existent. We can get sizable snowstorms all the
way until late May. This year we’ve had a few nice days sprinkled in with the
really windy, 40-50 degree weather we normally have, with the chance of snow

What's your favorite thing about spring?
I like
that feeling of warm days, flip flops, and summer vacation slowly coming.
Unfortunately this year I’ll be stuck in summer school, but I love that feeling
of finally having free, happy days. I also really like getting wear my favorite
dresses (because during the summer I end up wearing Norts everyday) and lilacs
blooming in my backyard!

Are you a spring cleaner?
Ummm,
I wouldn’t say so. I mean, I think in spring I really want to make my room
light and bright, so I constantly think about redecorating it. And as far as
cleaning, I might organize it. But I did actually thoroughly clean my room at
school a few weeks ago (I dusted things I had never dusted before!).

Any plans for spring break or an upcoming vacation?
My
spring break arrived about three weeks ago, and it makes me so sad every day
that it’s over. But I only have about 4 or 5 weeks until the semester is over.
So that makes me happy. I guess the game plan the next few weeks is just to
survive!
